Correct, it is a play of words that I came up with at a sprint in 2008
and then discussed online at the debian-custom mailinglist, seemingly

Yes, one notable non-Pure Debian Blend is debian-edu, due to bug#311188

It puzzles me a bit why you are asking now about the distinction
between "Debian Pure Blend" and "Debian Blend". Here is what I wrote in
the very first reply to you in this very thread:
