Damn I don't know what happened to me while typing. Sorry. \
This is what I actually did!
The original line was
xrdb -merge $RESOURCEFILE

and

xrdb -merge $USRRESOURCES

I just removed the -merge options.

And I made the changes in this file: /etc/X11/Xsession.d/30x11-common_xresources

I have made a backup of the above file! Just to be safe!
