The mail I responded to talked about "a *clean* install" and queried why one init system had to unstalled before another one was put it. There was no mention of X does not necessarily mean Y or of a configuration setting so there was nothing to discuss here. I'll alter my original statement to "Everyone gets systemd" and let the rest stand.
