I see itthe other way round. No, if you are in the secure area, it is the responsibility of the owner to make it secure by design i.e with dself closing doors where you can not look into or windows with curtains.
However, I presume, debian wants to be secure. If no one cares and all agree with this (in my personal opinion!) security whole, I will have to accept this. For myself I found a solution of course, and I just could have not told about it, but I cared for others and tried to put my 2 cents in it, to improve the security of debian.
