One would be better to see an ophthalmologist as opposed to an optician. In my case I have had both a detached retina repaired and a cataract removed in the same eye. Before that I wore contacts or glasses for distance and reading glasses for computer work or reading if I had my contacts in. Now I have 20/20 vision in the eye I had surgeries on, and my unaltered 20/200 vision in the other eye. I've tried various glasses and contacts since, but what has worked best for me is what they call univision - I have distance sight in one eye and close sight in the other. It took my brain around 2 years to adjust and accept that. This works very well for me, but in low light I don't have good depth perception and right lights are blinding to me, so I don't drive at night any more. Would love to find something that could help with that.
