If you don't mind reading AI-generated commits,
https://salsa.debian.org/lucas/devotee/-/commits/35options might be
helpful. (The commits are intentionally verbose, and you probably don't
want to add doc/max-options.md and AGENTS.md, but I left them in the
commit history)
I can’t be the only one who finds this quite tasteless given the
context of the GR? Especially after the pushback already present
earlier for the AI-generated GR summary page?
I must raise my hand here supporting Lucas' actions here.
I understand this looks aggressive, as it is how we say in Spanish,
“talking about ropes in the hung man's house”. However, nobody yet
stepped up to help Kurt verify whether devotee could be made to handle
the amount of options this discussion is creating. Thanks, Kurt, for
being so dilligent with your tasks as a Project Secretary and as
Devotee maintainer — but coding this against the clock is a bit too
much to ask from a volunteer.
Lucas' LLM-originated contributions are ① well organized as a set of
discrete patches/commits, so we can judge each of them thematically, ②
quite minimal and easy to understand; ③ clearly document they were
LLM-generated, so no “cheating” is made. I am only wondering whether
the addition of AGENTS.md makes any sense, but other than that, my
(very _very_ limited drive-by reviewing shows no issues.
Yes, we are discussing whether this should be allowed or not. But as
it stands, it is _currently_ not forbidden. I trust Lucas can read the
social weather and understand this can piss off some people. But,
again, other than coming to aid Kurt in implementing this change using
good ol' wetware, I think this is among the most _empathic_ posts in
the discussion.
