GOD !
PLEASE!
NO!

Don't install their software (AOL9).
It will eat almost 200MB of memory and few hundret of HDD space, it will
install 3 services that
will run all the time in your computer without knowing why, it will open 2 TCP
connections to AOL
all the time (and sometimes it will upload data on that connections), it will
increase the boot
time with 11.6 seconds, it will crash your firewall (if you have ZoneAlarm), it
will make you to
see lots of commercial adds, and more........

When I signed the contract with AOL (I know, I'M STUPID) they didn't tel me
that I can't used that
DSL line without their software (AOL9).
So I had to install it. Is mandatory to keep AOL9 opend or else the Internet
connection will not
work!
Also I had to buy an extra 512 MB or RAM.

After 1 month and over 30 phone calls and more emails they told me that
actually I CAN USE THE DSL
LINE WITHOUT THEIR STUPID SOFTWARE.
In this time I break into their software and I managed to to open and use the
Internet connection
using just their dialer and just 1 of their services. But I still had problems
with my firewall.
Also I had some problems with some malware because I used their navigator
(based, I think, on
IExplorer).
Now I'm back to my old Netscape 7.
The only thing I like at this ISP is the fact that I have dynamic IP. (The only
flower in the mud
field).

PS: every time I do an upload, the download just die.
Looks like you can't do upload and download in the same time with AOL!

So if you plan to change your ISP I recomand to every body to think twice
before using AOL!
