We can definitely work together and come up with an identical look-and-feel, 
regardless of the fact that the GUI toolkits are different. It would not be a 
Good Design(TM) (IMHO) if ZFS with Gtk had a different user interface than ZFS 
with QT/KDE.

I will look at D-Light -- thank you for the pointer.

I was thinking about a GUI driven application which would function either as a 
KDeveloper plugin, but also as a standalone application -- for the exact 
reasons 
you mention above -- one may want to instrument an application from within the 
KDeveloper IDE, or one may also want to be able to do the same independently of 
KDeveloper.
