Xrandr uses the Xinerama protocol to report screen layout information to the
clients, so they did not have to be re-written.   If it's occuring there too,
it confirms that the problem is in the GNOME side handling of the information
it gets from libXinerama.   Unforuntately, I don't know what's going on on that
side and the GNOME team will have to respond.   (Many of them have been out for
a 4 day weekend, due to the Easter holidays in Ireland, so hopefully will answer
when they're back.)
