HI Steve, You were really close. The "visual bell" setting is actually located on menu > preferences > sound > sounds tab
Disabling the visual flash there fixed issue 1. However, it's highlighted the fact that I have no terminal beep at all. I did some google searches and saw this was a common problem on linux requiring kernal modules to be loaded to fix. Any idea how to restore a real audible terminal beep?
