no, I'm pretty sure there is no beep during POST. The computer is not a laptop. It has a ASUS P5K motherboard with integrated audio (Realtek 8-channel). I'm looking at the motherboard user guide and I don't see anything saying the pc-speaker is wired into the audio card.
I'm a bit surprised that it wouldn't have a speaker, it's a full size tower (made in France by multimedis). It's not a show stopper, but I'd prefer the beep works.
