Brian, "jds", as used in URLs, etc, it taken from the project's Short Name in the OpenSolaris.org project DB and it's the one thing that cannot be changed. The only possibility here would be to start a new project and cancel the old one, and I don't think we want to go to that far.
Mailing list names and CBE variable names can change over time, but it would be a big inconvenience to change all that right now. "Trusted JDS" was (is?) the actual name of a product (as was "JDS Linux"), so it doesn't make sense to refer to Trusted OSD until such a product exists. Also, I added a paragraph to the main project page saying that any reference to JDS can be taken to mean OpenSolaris Desktop, which should at least help explain any un-migrated names. - Dermot Brian Cameron wrote: > Dermot: > >> As you may have noticed, the OpenSolaris.org project we were >> previously referring to as "Java Desktop System: A GNOME-based >> desktop" is now called "OpenSolaris Desktop".
