Brian, Even if opensolaris.org had the ability to change a project's Short Name, then we'd probably also want them to allow us to have some sort of symlinks so people who bookmarked the old URLs would still be taken to the new ones, eg http://opensolaris.org/os/project/jds/ -> http://opensolaris.org/os/project/osd/ so it seems like that would just be making some very low priority work for ourselves.
This is the second time we've renamed the project. When I discussed this with the project leaders some time ago we agreed that it made sense to do the easy bits, ie editing the text and getting the Tonic guys to change the project's Long Name, and I still think that's the most sensible approach. - Dermot On 06/28/09 02:44, Brian Cameron wrote: > > Dermot: > >> "jds", as used in URLs, etc, it taken from the project's Short Name >> in the OpenSolaris.org project DB and it's the one thing that cannot >> be changed.
