A couple of weeks ago I posted about the problems I've been
having trying to run VirtualBox. Lats night I installed b84
but the problem persisted, so I dug a bit deeper.

After a lot of experimentation, I discovered that this line
in my .Xdefaults was the culprit:

        *background: black

I use this make sure the background of my dtterms is black (I
use green on black); using the --bg=black (or similar) makes
the background of the scrollbar black too, which I don't want.
(Removing that line enables VirtualBox to work, but my dtterm
terminals have a white background. Yuck!)

I tried changing that line to

        Dtterm*background: black

But that didn't work. Neither did

        Dtterm*dtTermView*background: black

Any ideas on how to solve this? (Moving to gnome-terminal isn't
an option for me until certain things are fixed, like scrolling
working the same as dtterm, and getting a font that looks the
same as I use in dtterm.)

TIA,
