I'm using this firefox 3.0.1 build from releases.mozilla.org:
firefox-3.0.1.en-US-solaris-10-fcs-i386-pkg
When I view a PDF file, firefox ignores my preferred viewer (as
set in Edit -> Preferences -> Applications) and instead invokes
the gpdf viewer. I prefer to use "evince", and prior to trying
firefox-3.0 and 3.0.1, firefox 2.0 of various revs did as directed.
Running firefox3 under truss seems to indicate that it's searching
my PATH for the first of these executables:
acroread, gpdf, xpdf, gv
It then ends up exec-ing /usr/bin/gpdf, which is the first of
the above that it found on my system (Solaris-10U5). Any suggestions
on how to get it to pay attention to the Preferences setting?
