Using Solaris 10 u3 for sparc, I have been experiencing intermittent problems displaying pdfs in the FX 3.0.1 browser using the acrobat 8.1.2 plugin supplied by a recent Solaris patch. When I click on a link to a pdf, I often get a error box saying that the application is not found and suggests that it (acroread) is not in the PATH of my environment (which it is), and to reinstall the application if the problem persists. FX 3.0.1 will then crash with core dump soon afterward. The problem does not occur with FX 2, or with the older version of acroread (7.0.1). When FX is re-opened, pdfs will usually display properly in the browser using the plugin, but not always.
In the FX 3.0.1 plugins directory, I added a symlink to the actual plugin located in the plugin directory of the Mozilla browser. Ideas? Help, Alfred!!!!! This message posted from opensolaris.org
