Good. I am glad we tracked down the nature of the problem. While this is annoying, it normally would never happen unless the Face Browser is turned on. When the Face Browser is off, as is the default, you can cause this to happen if you enter your username but do not enter a password for a long period of time. In that situation, the error message is probably reasonable. This is more of a usability problem when the Face Browser is turned on, since the most frequent user is automatically selected which starts the PAM conversation. So, if a user does not enter their password for a long period of time, then they will see the error dialog. While perhaps a bit confusing, hitting "OK" in the dialog or the "Cancel" button restarts the login sequence and the user is able to login without a problem. So, while annoying, it has an obvious workaround. I anticipate that this bug will be fixed soon, though I am not sure a fix will be ready for the coming OpenSolaris release. Brian
