It's great discussion! Chris - I love how you responded to the comments :). I think there are many people who are emotionally vested in Airflow (and its pinwheel association) and I love that you adjusted your proposal!
I like the new Pinwheel proposal much more than the shuriken one ... because shuriken. Pinwheel association is strong for me as well. I think the new Pinwheel logo has many of the properties that you wanted to achieve (and that I sympathise with) - modern look, simplicity, flat appearance (but with a hint of 3D), being a bit more dynamic, nice when put in context (I think the website looks best with the new pinwheel logo hands down). Also I think Shuriken logo was a bit too dynamic. Airflow is not a speed daemon and it does not need to be - in many cases it just sits and waits for things to happen/be done by other components, so the pinwheel feels much better than shuriken. I love the new colour palette - it's much better than the old one. It was indeed huge problem to put the logo next to some often associated logos (for example the blue from all GCP related colours/cloud colours). Especially in case of presentations where I had to put several logos at the same time. Especially the shade of blue we used so far was difficult to match with often used other blue shades (look at the website for example - the blue of the top right header and Airflow's blue do not look good next to each other).
