What about translations of the document?

Do not equate JCA or PDL with translation. If anyone wishes to translate the current survey, they can (more on this below).


For the French, German and
Brazillian case studies you probably will need localized versions
of the document.

I would leave that decision to the respective native-lang groups. I think it's a mistake to try to do one template that is supposed to be used by everyone. It's an unreasonable burden.



You can do all the work yourself, but otherwise
the license, the logo, the URL, etc. will make it, as Louis said,
"clumsy" for the community members.

The experience of OOoAuthors suggests that the license makes colaboration easier. The JCA imposes a barrier, the PDL is clumsy. The requirements of the CC licenses are truly minimal. And the feedback I've received from people who are actually writing or translating docs has been invariably positive.


As for the logo and URL, please read the license, and please read my explanation.
