Hi,

I know this is a little off topic, but it isn't just the consultants
list that is a little 'stale'. The same can be said for the list of CD
distributors.

You're not off topic :) This is exactly what we're talking about. Make
this list accurate and representative of the support that exist on OOo. I've just gone further saying that it should not be only a listing, but
an interaction with the project.
However, what Peter pointed is real, we need resources and energy to
drive a real bizdev project, that it seems we have not currently.

I've also wanted to change the CD list and it could use the same tech as bizdev/consultants. Ideally, something that is a relatively simple database and list only those who are working with the OOo project, not just anyone. That adds to the burden of criteria checking, but as Peter V. suggests, it's manageable by atomization.

In other words, from the first 10 entries only 2 either have anything to
do with OOo or go any where and 1 actual tells people to not use the
package.

My point being that there really must be some way to check these lists,
any lists, that the main site puts out to the public.

And you're right and it's not about the main site only, but with all the OOo sites that provide that kind of lists, we are trying to find the how
and with what tool it could be feasible :)

Precisely. There will always be outdated entries. That I think we can live with. What we do want, however, is a list of (lists) that at least is easy to maintain and more accurate than inaccurate, and of those who are participating in the community, not just partaking of it.

Kind regards
Sophie
