Chip Childers commented on WHISKER-3: ------------------------------------- The reason that I added it to the LICENSE document, was that many of the packages that CloudStack is using don't require a notice, yet IMO projects should always provide information about where a particular piece of software can be located. Given that scenario, it seemed logical to include the source link for the project in the LICENSE file. The other option was to make blank notice entries, but that didn't seem very efficient. I'd be fine if that part of the patch was ignored, but I personally think that it makes for a more complete LICENSE document. > The license.vm template makes too many assumptions about skipping licensing > details for the primary org and license type. > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: WHISKER-3 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/WHISKER-3 > Project: Apache Whisker > Issue Type: Bug > Reporter: Chip Childers > Assignee: Robert Burrell Donkin > Attachments: WHISKER-3.patch > > > In using whisker to create the LICENSE file for Apache CloudStack, we found > several template issues that cause the app to skip license details for > anything that shares the primary org or primary license type. > I'll attach a patch file with the changes that we are using to make the > template work for us. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA.
