Hi Frank,
I started as I usually start: creating some helper classes and functions.
So I started with the DataAccessDescriptor for the Source and
Destination for the service constructor.
Hese are some of my first obvious/stupid questions:
* ActiveConnection for the source and destination: do I have to provide
an active connection in both cases, or just give other needed parameters
and the wiz. will try to connect (and I just add an XCopyTableListener
before calling XExecutableDialog::execute())?
* are both source and destination datasources "encapsulated" in an ODB
file? that is: there MUST an ODB file storing all the needed information
to stablish a connection? Example: can I simply pass a
ConnectionResource like
"sdbc:mysql:jdbc:localhost:3306/test"
"sdbc:dbase:file://..."
"sdbc:postgresql:host=localhost port=5432 dbname=ariel_db user=ariel
password=ariel" [in these for example all needed params. to stablish a
connection can be set in the DS url]
(and other required params) for the Source/Destination WITHOUT existing
an ODB file?
* to execute the wiz., must it be called form an db doc./OOoBase module?
if so, must this odb be the source/destination? Or can the wiz. be
executed from an ODB but indicate as source/destination others; even
more: can it be executed from any module, and more: with no parent
window at all, just called from a client application?
Regards,
Ariel
