Thanks for the information, but the Install Guide should contain Windows /Linux/Mac installation.

Yes. An official install guide should include all official platforms. Even if, for example, Linux and Solaris users "know how to do it".

If you do your first step under Linux because of OOo, it's good to have it :)

Could it be put somewhere on IZ so that we can work on it too ? That will interest l10n and NLC people.

Of course. What would be the right place to put it?

under Documentation category, please.

Sophie, here's an idea. What if we had different install guides, one for each platform? Would that work?

that will complicate all (maintainance, translation, etc), only one should be enough from my point of view. Installation is much more simple now. And very often you can have 2 different systems (Linux and Windows, etc.)

I was thinking that if we did, then we could distribute the work a bit. For example, let Authors/Docs write the Windows guide, French NL write the Linux guide, etc. And then translate those all around.

It's easier to do all in english first, then review it, then give it for translation.

This would be a nice opportunity to get different language projects working together.

Just ask to Scott how many nationalities we were at the begining of the Doc project ;)

What do you think?

you know now :)

Cheers
Sophie

Cheers,
