Okay. This helps establish the following:
1. There is nothing wrong at the server end. The file(s) in
question download just fine.
2. There is a problem between the server and your computer.
So what is between the US and Europe that would produce these symptoms?
A bad proxy, general network problem, et cetera.
Since we do not experience the problem in North America some more
troubleshooting is required at your end. The error you receive would
help, a traceroute to the server might shed some light on the problem.
Try using wget to download the file it error output might help.
