Not completely true. According to the documentation you can start it as a daemon (-d ,http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/programs/htcacheclean.html#options) that runs periodically. Of course this daemon has to be started and configured separately from httpd, so it may not be the final solution. Regards Rüdiger
