Indeed I was overly abrasive, and for that I apologize. I did warn in
my first message distro feelings on the subject were strong, and it
was better to accept that opinion than ask for details.

It seems I still haven't found the magic way to tell projects
distributions really loathe direct download helpers like DictOO, and
yes it's educated loathing so there is no use revisiting the helper
features.

(as it proved once again such a revisiting invariably turns into
flamewars because the main reason projects feel they need download
helpers is a long list of distribution grievances, while the
distributions feel most of them are undeserved and anyway things would
be so much easier if projects didn't waste energy on the first place
on a distribution job they'll never do properly)

I'll also point rudeness is in the eye of the beholder, and being part
of the OO.o community you may not be as sensitive to some statements
as third parties.
