Hi Tom,
OK, I've been using JEdit for a while with a load of pluggins... the cf stuff is a bit crap but it's a great free editor... has anyone here tried both Eclipse and Jedit, and can they offer a recommendation?
I've used JEdit in the past and found it slow and clumsy to use. Until recently, I was using CFStudio on Windows and Quanta on Linux/KDE, but I'm now using Eclipse on both. I couldn't point at JEdit and say I don't like it because it doesn't do x, y or z - I just didn't like the interface.
You should take a look at Eclipse and see what you think, I found myself using it productively within a hour or so of installing (just tweaked the config a bit, added some keyboard shortcuts and installed a couple of plugins)
