Hello, I am new to Mahout and would like to go straight to the expert for an answer to these applicability questions before I dive in further.
I am looking for a tool or two to do pattern recognition. This pattern recognition is done on near real-time RF data and RAN (Radio Access Network) status/data in order to discover possible problematic issues that may come up and have the software deals with it before it happens. The pattern recognition needs to also be done on tracking sequence-of-events happening in order to detect problems that have already occurred or it is about to occur. I looked into FANN for neural networking to do the pattern recognition but FANN does not do clustering or classification. Can I use Mahout (on Hadoop data) exclusively (i.e. not Mahout and FANN combined) to cluster and classify wireless/wired calls from a certain customer (M2M applications e.g. Smart Grid or Life Alert) and also does pattern recognition as described above?
