Hi Fabrizio,

I usually don't write mails when I'm on vacation, but I really feel like I
want to answer this one.

The concept of a concierge, in regards of the description you gave, is a
good idea (monitoring all comings and goings). However, I just want to
underline that in French, "concierge" is not a really beautiful word. I
wouldn't want to say "As-tu installé Concierge pour gérer ton référentiel ?"
It just doesn't sound good.
What's more, in the French collective unconscious, "concierge" can
unfortunately have a pejorative meaning. We have expressions like "Celle-là,
c'est une vraie concierge" which carry this pejorative meaning.
So these are the reasons why I'm not sure this would be a nice name for MRM.
At least in France, which of course is not the whole world :o)

In the same idea, what about "Sentinel" ? (or "Sentinelle" in French ;o))

Wikipedia:
"A sentinel usually refers to a sentry or
guard<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guard>that guards a particular
place, person or item, as well as an honor
guard <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honour_guard>."

Cheers,
Fabrice.

Anyway, I agree that finding a better name for reposiory manager would
be nice... I'll start with a first proposal: what about "Concierge"?
:)

In 19th century and early 20th century apartment buildings,
particularly in Paris, the concierge, often a middle-aged woman, had a
small apartment on the ground floor and was able to monitor all
