For this very same reason (i.e., better track downloads) the Italian NL
Project is considering to abandon Bouncer for future releases.

We are using Bouncer for version 2.1, but we were quite disappointed in
knowing that we will not be able to access even the simplest statistics
(downloads of the Italian version, split by day and by platform):

Those figures are crucial to our marketing project and, even though I'm
confident the problem can be solved in time for 2.2, I advise other NL
projects against switching to Bouncer if they can somehow get download
figures now and their marketing project relies on this. Once better
statistics have been implemented (maybe they already have), I would of
course recommend using Bouncer, which greatly simplifies the download
process and maintenance.

Regards,
Andrea Pescetti - Italian NL Project Lead.
