My impression was pandoc can read just about any structured input. It's
curious AsciiDoc isn't there.

So for HTML it's

AsciiDoc -- (asciidoctor) --> HTML

and for PDF it's

AsciiDoc -- (asciidoctor) --> DocBook XML -- (pandoc) --> PDF

That sound right?
