Taher Alkhateeb commented on OFBIZ-5267:
----------------------------------------

Hi Jacques,

Yes I would like to tackle this, but I would appreciate some guidance from you.
For example, in the webapp mentioned above, is it just a simple webapp with
screens/links to the different reports, or does it override the reports in the
other components with its own (I'm not even aware of the ability to override
webapps in OFBiz).

It seems to me like yanking the reports completely out of the modules without
having a way to reintroduce them to all components (if BIRT component is
installed) would not be a very productive way to go because I have to patch
pretty much everywhere in OFBiz to reintroduce my reports in the controller.xml
files.

What do you suggest as the next step? do you want to move the reports, create
the webapp, and then I can start cleaning up the report scripts? and what do
you suggest as a way to automate the above (having a way to replace all reports
with BIRT reports). If a patch is unavoidable, then perhaps I need to work on
an extras-addon to resolve this issue?
