We moved to gitbox since "old git asf" doesn't allow PR merging

Not completely correct: you can merge PRs via git commits.

hi folks!

The OpenJPA codebase is big and mature.
That kind of cries for using feature branches for some parts.
And while SVN is great overall, branching is still problematic.

Right now I would love to move from junit3 to 5.
But that isn't possible in one commit. It needs some branch. And this

pure pain in SVN.
So what about migrating OpenJPA over from SVN to GIT?

Wdyt?
+1 for git with github mirroring
+0 for gitbox

Curious on that vote: gitbox is mainly asf github so makes it easy to
handle pr whereas old git asf (deprecated) with mirroring does not get
github features. Why do you prefer the other solution?
Is "old git asf" deprecated? Really?

I am quite comfortable with PR handling with ASF git, and don't miss any
other github feature.

Simply, I don't see any enough reasons to further bind to github but if
the community wants that, I won't object.
