Is that a bad thing per se? It would be unadvisable at runtime, but on
the other hand it keeps the imports relaxed, and therefore allows
consumers that use old Oak versions to keep working.

Do you mean the Javadocs or the reference documentation? Old versions
should still be available in any case.
