Though I seem to remember also that token generation in 3.4.0 for
bayes is different than 3.3.X so we likely need to warn people about
that in the release announcement as well.

not possible to use old bayes format ?, like what dspam does with multiple bayes engines/digest, following it on there maillists seems its gives problems with multiple choices
The issue I'm referring to is in bug 5185.

https://issues.apache.org/SpamAssassin/show_bug.cgi?id=5185

Based on this, my understanding is that the msg_ids will no longer be calculated the same so you can't unlearn a message and might learn duplicates if you upgrade from 3.3.X to 3.4.0.

I believe we should recommend restarting the bayes database with 3.4.0 and I've added notes to the proposed announcement to that end as follows:

Important Bayes Change
----------------------

Beyond the ability to use redis as a Bayes backend server, Bug 5185 changed
the way that message IDs were calculated for emails.

Because of this change, you can't unlearn a message if you upgrade from
3.3.X to 3.4.0 and you might learn emails twice. It is likely best to
clear your Bayes store and start from scratch to avoid any issues.

Thoughts?
