It would make discussions easier if you would learn to stick to facts, and refrain from ungrounded accusations. If we (Sun) would "not care about configure at all", there would be much much more problems. Usually, whenever we change something in the build environment, we *do* care for configure. Of course that's not perfect, and tends to break in some circumstances (not really surprising with the *dozens* of switches, which are more or less orthogonal), but that's not per se different from any other place in OOo's huge code base. And yes, if the Sun-internal build env would use configure, then breakages would be more seldom, no doubt.
