Ask Thorsten Ziehm and tm
As the issue states cmc was involved in this decision, but as I wrote
before, the reason for this decision (crashes) were due to a mismatch in
gnome-vfs and the fpicker code with threads. This problem is since long
solved in both gnome-vfs and in the fpicker code. So the decision should
be rethought.

The same probably is true for the expand-all request (request from a
time when the fpicker still was envolving and did hide the filetype
selection in the folder-browser).
see http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=46059 which was
fixed along with

Or maybe this one was just a misunderstanding.
