Folks--
Maarten pointed out some things to me in my previous post, and, yes, we
will no longer ahve the "New..." button and I think, really this is
adequatly covered by the link to why.openoffice.org.
We WILL however continue to have the "About" tab and the "I Want to
Participate" which I'm thinking can be covered by the same page. I have
put a new page in tryouts
http://website.openoffice.org/tryouts/Jan2008/about/
that I think we can use for this with your blessing. :)
It incorporates the old About Us page *and* the existing
http://www.openoffice.org/about_us/introduction.html
page which will not be linked once we ditch the "New..." button.
Hopefully this will also eliminate a lot of duplication that was found
on those two pages as well.
ps to Maarten: I didn't retool this on the wiki :/ It was just easier
to put it back into tryouts so it can be moved to about_us at some point.
