That looks good... very good. > The only problem is a little bug where the left 5 pixels of each tab > activate the left hand side rollover, but not the right hand side > rollover. Since this small area is not clickable, I think this 'bug' > is better than the <li> rollover activating the <a> rollover, as that > would provide false feedback (i.e., the tab should be clickable, but > it isn't). If there was a <span> element within each link in the > navigation, it could be fixed easily, but I'm not sure if that can be > done easily (i.e., without editing mediawiki files that would be > overwritten in the next upgrade). As a bug, this is a pretty minor one we could live with. Editing the Wiki source is a risk as you've pointed out. If it's necessary to do, we can do it as long as it's documented in the Wiki maintenance page (this way it'll more likely be duplicated for an upgrade). http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Wiki_maintenance > OK, now I really need your feedback on things like headings, fonts, > etc. As Alexandro pointed out.. fonts... are a touchy thing. I would prefer to keep the fonts more open (ie less Windows centric) than they are (or at least seem to be) on the main OO.o site. The fonts on the OO.o site are one of my unvoiced complaints. For example when I click the "I want to download OO.o" link and ti opens to show the green Download now! box, the font used to show "Start downloading OO.O 3.0.0 for Linux in US English" is in a 2 point font. Separate issue... I'll try to remember to raise it in a website discussion. > addressed as well. Personally, I would be against having Verdana as > the default wiki font - so should we switch the website from Verdana > to Arial too? What about using Galaxy icons? Are there any other ideas > of how we could improve the wiki through CSS? Galaxy icons would be interesting. I think if we do use the Galaxy icons somewhere on the Wiki, that is a something for the Wiki look/feel/cleanup thing that Elizabeth will be looking into (eg a cleanup of the Wiki Main Page could include some nice Galaxy icons) As for the CSS itself.... the most obvious visual elements have already been covered by the changes already proposed. Just comparing the two (Wiki and OO.o)... the tab font color is different.. is ti worth matching the OO.o tab font color? Or leave as is? Otherwise I don't see anything else jumping out at me.
