Hi Bernd, all,

Note that I am not saying we can“t start to experiment with a new look
and feel using prototypes which are just based on CVS, CSS, SSI etc. My
concern though is that if we really would switch to a new look and feel
which could be considered a major redesign and not just small adaption
to new branding before the kenai migration most of the work put so far
into providing the CURRENT look&feel on the kenai infrastructure would
well have been done for the trash :-(

In my eyes redesign is an ongoing task - Ivan already described the changes since the last major overhaul.

I don't know if a small adaption would work at all - branding is much more than just replacing one image or gradient by an other.

A consistent look and *feel* might cause changes in the pages' structures as well as in the way they interact with the visitor/user/contributor. This is especially true if we want to integrate the front pages of the native-lang projects too.

But I don't think that your and the Kenai team's work will be in vain. Even if I don't know how long the migration process will take, it is not very likely that any new design will be created and approved before Kenai migration will take place.

Perhaps both sides should keep in mind, that there is ongoing work in the other area, so tricky and time consuming adaption to suboptimal infrastructure and design elements could be avoided by talking to each other in an earlier stage of development.

Best regards

Bernhard
