@bzz The right place for the discussion of whether to work in this PR or a
branch or whatever, if Tom's proposal is off the table, is the developers'
mailing list.
Regarding how to divvy up the work -- it seems like there's "1.6" and
"everything else." Which one do you want to pick, and when?
