Even the "0.0.1-pre" version hadn't been released when I'd finished most of the above work :-), and the 0.1 version appears to only handle hot plugging of USB devices, which doesn't overlap at all with what I've done so far. That said, the method I've used is intentionally flexible enough to make use of whatever other device enumeration/matching systems might be available or become available later. For me, the important thing was to get to the point today where a user can just run the 'XFree86' server without having to bother (or know how) to configure it.
