Thanks all.
As expected: a can of worms.
But I remember listening to some frustrated rants from various Francises
(Francii?) a few years ago and suspect that it's a little less awful
than it used to be...
OK, so for the point of view of linking to court cases referenced in a
news article, once a decision has been made, the bailii.org page is the
one. Before then... there's nothing tangible to link to.
Seems like there'd be room for a nice little web app that:
1) creates a permanent page for each case as soon as it's unique number
and title appears anywhere on a .gov.uk site
2) adds in the daily schedule info (as Donny points out, scraped by
causelist.org)
3) adds in any extra information available as it appears (maybe some
dark corner of the DoJ site nobodies seen)
4) adds in the link to the baillii.org page
5) plonks a decent searchable index on top of it all
Out of interest, does Courtel receive any information beyond the (now)
public daily court schedules? I couldn't really tell...
Ben.
