Actually it's not a BBC story, they are just reporting the (much longer)
investigation by the MPs local paper. The BBC's coverage is rather
superficial so the original story is worth a read if you're interested

Given the thorough investigation, and comparison with other MPs locally,
they undertook I don't think it's fair to call this story a cheap media
shot.
