The EthernetAssign value is normally set manually - when you choose "swapped"
mode in the console. The only time we set it automatically is during an
upgrade - if we find a "swapped" configuration, we unswap it so that the
local network is now the first card. You are right - we should probably
explicitly set it to normal if the drivers are different.
Great testing and report on PPPoE/swapped modes - thanks.
