I think it is calculating the length of the file wrong somehow. > The "(Leave server blank..." messages is chopped off at "this comp...". > Perhaps instead of this message, you just put "tcp/localhost:19114" in > the box to make it explicit. I think the server box should go away. Just specify a server on the command line if you want one. Otherwise, default to localhost. If not, the server setting should be removed from the main screen and put onto a less conspicuous "settings/preferences" area. And people should be told to start the node before starting the GUI (ideally the GUI would start the node for you). This gets back to encouraging people to view freenet as a peer-to-peer network and not a client server network. All this assumes that the GUI is designed for ordinary end users. For developers and expert users there is nothing wrong with having a pure client for testing, debugging, etc. Feel free to tell me to shut up about this, but I really believe it is extremely important to present the interface the right way to end users in order to foster the growth of the network/community. _______________________________________________ Freenet-dev mailing list Freenet-dev at lists.sourceforge.net http://lists.sourceforge.net/mailman/listinfo/freenet-dev
