Upon trying the latest Windows installer it failed in a number of ways: 1) storeCacheSize was set to 0 by default which seemed to cause startup to fail until I manually edited it.
2) The default seed nodes are bad. Although I managed to retrieve keys, the only node that seemed to be responding was 210-54-227-186.adsl.xtra.co.nz:40000 which I assume is heretic108.cjb.net from the default seed.ref. This node transferred keys slowly at a rate of between 50-200 cps and I never seemed to collect other valid seed nodes from it. A seperate installation of Freenet 0.4 that had been properly seeded worked as expected using many node references so I know 0.4 is not broken, it just appears that way to new users. Please, please sort out the seed node issue, it's KILLING 0.4.
