I hate to be the Intellectual Property attorney that rains on someone,
but as an Officer of the Court I feel obligated to chime in on this
one.  Copyright law _does_ prohibit the copying of icons from a
copyrighted work.  If you can't secure permission from the copyright
owner to use the icons, then I would argue against inclusion of the
icons into Dia.  I'm on the Debian-legal list and this very subject came
up recently.  An otherwise free program was moved to non-free simply
because some of the graphics were owned by another entity and could not
be included in the GPL license that governed the remainder of the
program.  KDE already fits into the non-free category (because of the Qt
license).  I would hate for Dia to end up the same way, particularly
because Gnome is supposed to be free and Dia is supposed to (eventually)
be one of the programs included with Gnome.

Just my pro bono for the day...
