I agree it would be nice to keep a flow with the same person. However, if
you email someone who's on vacation - you're lost.
Or if they move into a different area of the company.
Or if they leave the company.
Or if they're sick.
We have a small team, and keeping all the elements in a discussion can
maintain the flow - all my crew are well versed and can handle most
scenarios. If they get lost in a thread, their coworkers are not far away
to assist.
If we had a team of 30 people, it would be more difficult... As we get
larger it's going to be more and more difficult to maintain that
'personal' touch :)
