actually yes and no.... try searching all domain extensions at netsol... it'll take about 2 seconds, try searching through opensrs, it'll take 2 seconds for each extension. try searching through http://www.domaindirect.com , it'll take about 3 seconds to search through all com net org info biz domains all at once, not to mention a bunch of suggested names.
 
i for one would love to see opensrs offer a domain search service(maybe the one tucows uses at domaindirect?) faster than the current lookups. many opensrs resellers i've seen use the more unreliable whois because of speed. opensrs whois is usually much faster than opensrs lookups. i would expect  faster lookups to increase domain registrations for opensrs resellers substantially.
